Laborer – Hardscape/Landscape

The Hardscape/Landscape Laborer specializes in installing permanent, non-living structures in outdoor environments, such as patios, retaining walls, and walkways, using materials like stone, concrete, and brick. The Hardscape/Landscape Laborer performs tasks involving strenuous physical labor on excavating and construction job site/projects in the tri-state area. May perform a variety of tasks including operating hand and power tools, clean and prepare construction job sites, cleaning up various types of debris, load/unload materials, and assist other construction workers as needed. The Hardscape/Landscape Laborer must have physical strength, stamina, hand-eye coordination, and endurance.

Duties Include:


  • Install Pavers and Erosion Control Products
  • Excavating, grading, and compacting soil and stone bases
  • Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist heavy materials
  • Ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed
  • Assist Environmental manager, equipment operators, and other laborers – working as a team member
  • Read blueprints and designs
  • Complete construction landscape installation jobs – mostly manual labor
  • May operate various other small equipment such as, tampers, mowers, chippers, saws, pressure washers, bobcat, etc.
  • Plows and/or shovels snow according to need, and on demand
  • Perform all duties in accordance with appropriate safety and security standards
  • Maintain and care for company equipment, tools, and vehicles
  • Remove various types of debris
  • Remove and/or work around hazardous material
  • Give cues and signals and directions to heavy equipment operators
  • Set up and take down silt fencing
  • Operate the equipment manually and also through possible technical methods of operation
  • Perform labor tasks and other duties, as and when assigned
  • Year-round work
  • 2 years of experience is preferred, but we will train.
